Drink in our 4th Annual "Ides of March" Wine Tasting
The Romans brought together many of the world's best wine-regions, particularly due to the exploits of Julius Caesar, who paved the way for Empire.
Caesar was assinated on March 15th, 44 BC. Before that, Caesar united Gaul under Roman rule, crossed the Rubicon with his army in contravention of Roman law, chased Pompey to Brindisi, was rescued from the Siege of Alexandria by Antipater the Idumaean, and battled Pompey's sons at Munda.
What does that mean for you? It means we'll taste these wines:
- Les Granges Paquenesses Savagnin La Pierre 2011, Jura
- La Collina Lambrusco dell Emilia Il Quaresimo IGT 2011, Emilia-Romagna
- Cantore di Castelforte Di Manduria Es Primitivo DOC, Puglia
