Wine and the Divine... Comedy, Part 1: the Inferno
We are pairing wine and terror, just in time for Halloween.
You mean "terroir"? No. Terror! Dante Alighieri's The Inferno (Part 1 of the Divine Comedy) takes us through 9 circles of hell, each one recounting evils done by the wretched inhabitants within (spoooookyyy). Who were those people? What did they do? Most importantly, what wine is now made where they sinned horribly?
We'll vist Florence, Istria, Piemonte, Sicily, and Romagna, and taste these wines:
- San Quirico, Vernaccia di San Gimignano 2015
- Bruno Trapan, Istria Malvazija Ponente 2015
- Castelfelder, Mont Mes Cuvee Rosso Vig delle Dolomiti IGT 2014
- Palazzo Malgara Nerello Mascalese Terre Siciliane IGT 2015
- Villa Bagnolo, Sangiovese di Romagna Riserva Sassetto 2015
