Island Life - Sicily and Sardinia
Sardinia and Sicily are those two big islands booted away from the Italian mainland.
While they share some elements of their history with the mainland – notably heavy Greek and Roman influence – the islands also have their own distinctiveness. They were more influenced by Nuragic groups and Phoenicians and, later, Arabs also left a mark on these island worlds.
With island insularity and a history that sometimes diverges from the mainland, things are a little different on Sardinia and Sicily… including their wine and spirits.
We’ll sample some of that ”difference” with:
- Etna Bianco
- Vermentino di Sardegna
- Cerasuolo di Vittoria
- Rosso di Romangia
- Cannonau di Sardegna
