Wine - and the dinosaurs that helped make it!
"Terroir" is all the things that help make a wine: soil, climate, environment, flora, fauna... and a certain je ne sais quoi that we like to call "history". In this case, we mean prehistory!
From Prosaurolophus to Struthiosaurus, to members of the Titanosauridae, dinosaur fossils are found in many wine growing regions including - at times - directly beneath the vines. How does that taste???? We will try 5 wines from fossil-heavy soils and famous dinosaur-sites - including from the Jura(ssic)!
Come taste the terroir and that je ne sais quoi that these dinosaurs left in the soil.
We'll enjoy these five wines:
- Domaine de la Pinte Pupillin Chardonnay Arbois (2014)
- Meinklang Pinot Gris Graupert (2015)
- Fontezoppa, Vernaccia di Serrapetrona Falcotto (2012)
- Bodega Familia Schroeder, Saurus Pinot Noir (2015)
- Quinta do Monte d'Oiro, Lisboa Syrah Lybra (2013)
